It is an odd task to write one’s own biography as it often has the feel of laying out your own obituary. We do not want to boast, yet, at the same time, we want the humanity to know us, to know we were here. That a trillion arbitrary particles of stellar dust came together and gave us form and function to stand upon this remarkable planet for a brief moments. We want to be remembered if only for a flicker of time and we wish to be thought of as making a difference, hopefully in a good way.I do belief this is what makes writers write. The effort is our banner that we plunge into the swift tide of time to say we were here, as Sir Hillary did upon Mt. Everest and Neil Armstrong upon Mare Tranquillitatis.
Of sure, we have stories to tell. We have voices and opinions and causes to fight for, but so do preachers and politicians and 1st grade children.
